- You need 8 of chicken legs.
- It's 2 tbsp of oil.
- Prepare 2 of onions diced.
- You need 4 cloves of garlic roughly chopped.
- It's 1 jar of roasted peppers sliced.
- You need 1 tin of tomatoes.
- Prepare Splash of white wine.
- It's 200 ml of chicken stock.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of caraway seeds.
- Prepare 1 of heaped tbsp of smoked paprika.
- It's 1 of heaped tbsp of sweet paprika.
- You need 1 tsp of cayenne pepper.
- You need 100 ml of sour cream (optional).
Chicken Paprika instructions
- First of all heat a large pan or metal casserole dish, (that has a lid) pour in the oil, add the chicken legs to brown, this can take about 10 mins..
- Meanwhile prepare the veggies, turning the drumsticks in between the chopping. Be careful they do spit. Heat the oven to 180 degrees..
- Once the drum sticks are browned, carefully remove and set aside! Now throw in the onion and garlic to the pan to soften..
- Add the peppers and spices. Splash the wine in to help deglaze the pan. Stir well!.
- Throw in the tomatoes, stir well. Dunk the chicken legs into the mixture, pour over the stock. Give it a jiggle!.
- Place on the lid, and pop it in the oven for an hour, after an hour give it a stir and place back in the oven with the lid off this time for another 30 - 40 minutes! Keep an eye on it for burning..
- Serve ! I served mine with some pre bought gnocchi! But it works well with rice or pasta too!!.
